Apple Pie

                                               

Ingredients

  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 8 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degree F.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  3. Stir in flour to form a paste.
  4. Add water, white sugar and brown sugar, and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce temperature and let simmer.
  6. Place the bottom crust in your pan.
  7. Fill with apples, mounded slightly.
  8. Cover with a lattice work crust.
  9. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust.
  10. Pour slowly so that it does not run off.
  11. Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
  12. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F.
  13. Continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes, until apples are soft.
  14. Enjoy the best apple pie you've ever eaten! =D

  1. This is my favorite sweet to eat. I love the flavor of the crust and the creamy apples. I think it is really cool that now I can make an apple pie myself by following this instead of buying one because everything taste better when it is homemade. The only thing is that I think most apple pies have cinnamon so you probably want to put some cinnamon on the apple pie also.

  2. I've always loved pies, but especially apple pies. Me and my grandma always cook apple pies together during the holidays. Its fun to make and delicious to eat.
